  A: Before swapping out the air bag clock spring you need to disable the sir system. The first step involves removing the air bag clock spring and Steering Wheel and upper and lower shrouds. Take the Steering Wheel column wire harness straps off their connections with the air bag clock spring and pull out the air bag clock spring from the Steering Shaft. Install the air bag clock spring to the Steering Shaft by securing it in the center position first. Feed the lower coil wire harness through the steering column jacket before reinstalling wire harness straps back onto the steering column harness. The next steps include reinstalling the upper and lower shrouds along with the Steering Wheel and finally installing the air bag clock spring. Finally, enable the sir system.
