2005 Buick Rendezvous Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front headlight bulb on 2005 Buick Rendezvous?
A: Start by opening the hood then removing the thumb screw positioned at the back of the headlamp. The release of the retainer allows access to remove the headlamp through a straight pull that detaches its ball stud from the fascia grommet and upper support bracket. The electrical connector for the headlamp must first be detached and then the bulbs can be removed after turning them counterclockwise. Access and eliminate the headlamp trim tabs to pull the trim off while you remove all adhesive tape from it. Aluminum cleaner p/n 8984 from 3m or a similar product should be used to clean all adhesive residue from both the headlamp and the headlamp trim. To install the headlamp trim use 3m(TM) p/n 6382 or equivalent adhesive tape at the needed points before setting the trim onto the headlamp and pushing it to complete full tab seating. The new bulb installation process starts by clockwise rotation until completion while you reconnect the electrical component to the upper fascia support panel. Press the headlamp back into the upper fascia support while ensuring the ball stud connects through complete seating. Apply the thumb screw at the rear of the headlamp then position the vertical retainer downward until it reaches full seat. End the procedure by checking the headlamp aim both when new headlamps are installed and when front end service is performed before putting the hood back in place.
