Before starting work on replacing the rear Wheel Bearing and hub in a disc brake system you need to elevate and stabilize the vehicle. Take off the tire and wheel to start. Next you must examine the Ball Joint. Separate the sensor connection and take off the wheel drive shaft nut from awd vehicles. Unfasten the Wheel Bearing/hub assembly knuckle bolts to extract it from the knuckle. Place the Wheel Bearing/hub assembly on the knuckle using the right fasteners at their designated locations while keeping replacement fasteners precise to the application part number. Keep fastener and joint surfaces free from paint, lubricant, and corrosion inhibitor due to their impact on torque values and clamping force. Tighten the fasteners according to their proper installation order to protect the components. Drop the bolts into the Wheel Bearing/hub assembly then fasten them to 130 nm (96 lb ft) torque. Place the drive shaft wheel into its bearing space and tighten the nut to 260 nm (192 lb ft) torque. Reconnect the sensor wire to complete the assembly and place back the tire and wheel before letting the vehicle down.
