How to replace the front air bag sensor on 2005 Cadillac CTS?

The SIR system must first be disabled prior to removing the inflatable restraint front end sensor. Before powering on the system you must fasten the sensor securely to prevent potential automatic SIR deployment as well as personal harm. Detach the connector position assurance (CPA) from the inflatable restraint front end sensor's wiring harness connector. Also remove its separate wiring connector from the front end sensor. Remove the front end sensor from the upper tie bar after loosening its left-hand threaded mounting fastener located in the tie bar. Apply cleaning to the mounting surface before you place the sensor flat with the arrow marking facing forward. You should tighten the fastener to 9 N.m (80 lb in) during mounting installation. The wired connection of the front end sensor joins to the CPA which will attach to the wiring connector on the sensor's front end. Finally, enable the SIR system.
