    A: The first step in replacing the power seat switch requires users to disable the SIR system on both the driver seat and passenger seat. The power seat switch can be reached by first removing the seat cushion from the adjuster track. The universal tool performs a light pull to remove each knob from the switch. Squeeze the retainers attached to the power seat switch bezel which wraps around the seat cushion frame and the bezel will release. The J channel retainers must be released to locate the power seat switch after which the power seat switch fastener must be popped out from the seat cushion frame. Release the power seat switch from its seat cushion frame position while noting the correct routes of electrical wires to prevent any damage. Remove the electrical connector by disconnecting it from the power seat switch. Installation requires placing the wiring harness in its original position followed by electrical connector attachment to the power seat switch before guiding the switch up until it rests inside the seat cushion frame. The power seat switch requires installation of the push-in fastener before putting back the J channel retainers and the seat cushion cover can be placed on top of the switch. Place the power seat switch bezel above the switches before you fasten the fasteners through which it will connect to the seat cushion frame. Replace and secure both power seat switch knobs together with the seat base. Any post-repair procedure on the passenger seat must begin with enabling the SIR system followed by performing the passenger presence system preload test.
