How to replace the front door window regulator on 2005 Cadillac CTS?

The procedure to replace front door window regulators includes two main steps before beginning the work. Position the window in the full up position before removing interior door trim panels. You should remove the water deflector before taping the window at its highest position. Open the access holes through the inner door panel to loosen window clamp nuts by 4 revolutions while connecting the door trim panel wiring harness. Drive the regulator window down 3/4 of its range while separating the motor connector. Take out the Window Regulator by first disassembling the door through bolts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The first part of installation includes putting the Window Regulator inside the door before torquing Window Regulator bolts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) to 9 nm (80 lb in). Cut the tape from the window glass and slide the glass into the Window Regulator clamps until it reaches its maximum rearmost position in the channel. Start the car while connecting the power Window Motor electrical connector so the Window Motor receives ample power to achieve correct window seating. Raise the window to its maximum level before you apply torque of 11 nm (95 lb in) to the clamp nuts. The vehicle needs to complete an operational check with properly functioning windows before ending the servicing session. Install the water deflector followed by the door trim panel to complete the work.
