A proper start to replace the vertical seat adjuster motor entails the disabling of the SIR system. The first step is to remove the seat before taking out the necessary electrical wiring from the motor. The retaining bolt from the vertical seat adjuster motor needs removal for lifting the motor up before freeing it from slot in the adjuster. The new vertical seat adjuster motor needs to be placed into slot of the adjuster before users rotate it downward to achieve proper insertion into the seat adjuster. The retaining bolt needs installation after which technicians should tighten it to 10 Nm (88 lb in). Reinstall the seat while connecting its electrical connectors. You should next turn on the SIR system while completing seat memory calibration when possible.
