Following the needful precautions, the first step in replacing the horizontal seat adjuster motor is to disable the SIR system. Take off the seat cushion to get access to the motor and then unplug the electrical connectors from the motor. Unscrew the fastener securing the adjuster motor, and vacate the seat adjuster drive cable out of the motor before removing the same, including the motor. Additionally, remove the short drive cable from the seat adjuster. For installation insert the short drive cable into the seat adjuster with the square end lined up to the motor, moving the motor over the cable. Now, attach the long drive cable into the motor and then into the seat adjuster, making sure that the cables go all the way in. Secure the motor with retaining screws, tighten them 5 N.m (44 lb in) at the least, and reconnect the electrical connectors. Lastly, reinstall the seat cushion and turn the SIR system on. In the event that the vehicle has memories seats, the seat should be adjusted.
