How to replace the vertical seat motor on 2003 Cadillac CTS?

Disabling the SIR system constitutes the first step before starting to replace the vertical seat adjuster motor. First disconnect the electrical connectors on the motor after seat removal. The motor can be freed from slot in the adjuster when you lift it and remove the retaining bolt securing the vertical seat adjuster motor. Insert the vertical seat adjuster motor into slot of the adjuster before rotating it downward until it reaches the position in the seat adjuster. Fit the retaining bolt on the vertical seat adjuster motor and tighten it to 10 Nm (88 lb in). The electrical connectors should be connected to complete the installation process followed by seat reinstallation before SIR becomes active.
