• Q: How to replace the ignition coil for Bank 2 on 2003 Cadillac CTS?

  A: Start your replacement of bank 2 ignition coils by removing the oil filler spout through a counterclockwise twist of its unlockable tab. Disconnect both the vacuum brake booster hose and wiring harness connecting to the remote power steering fluid reservoir. Continue by disconnecting the vacuum brake booster hose from its vacuum reference. Remove mounts bolts (1 and 3) on the remote power steering fluid reservoir then set the reservoir to the side. Unplug the electrical connector from the coil pack then loose the retainer bolts which secure the coil pack. Use the j 43301 coil pack remover (J 43301) to thread it through the coil pack but avoid overtorque when doing so. Use steady pressure to raise the coil pack from its place on the cam cover. Check coil pack seals alongside Spark Plug boots for damage and wear before performing replacements when needed. Install the coil pack by aligning Spark Plug boots to spark plugs then slowly press the coil pack into position before tightening coil pack retainer bolts to 8 n.m (71 lb in). During installation thread the electrical connector back to the coil pack before tightening the two remote power steering fluid reservoir mounting bolts (1, 3) to 9 n.m (80 lb in) and the cylinder head mounting bolt to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Reinstall the vacuum brake booster hose followed by the wiring harness to the remote power steering fluid reservoir before connecting the vacuum brake booster hose to its vacuum source and finishing by turning the oil filler spout clockwise then snapping it back to its position.
