2003 Cadillac CTS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2003 Cadillac CTS?
A: Start the ect sensor replacement process by draining some coolant from your system. The cooling time should be long enough to avoid both excessive coolant loss and injury to personnel. Start by taking off the Wiper Motor module to reveal the ect sensor then unplug its electrical connector and extract the sensor from the water crossover. The ect sensor must be placed in the water crossover while using p/n 1050805 or equivalent non-hardening sealer on sensor threads to secure the coolant. Secure the ect sensor with a torque of 18 n.m (13 lb ft) then restore its electrical connector to the sensor. Put the Wiper Motor module back then add fluid to the coolant system.
