How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2004 Cadillac CTS?

To replace the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor, leave your car ample time to cool to ensure you do not lose too much coolant or injure yourself. First, you should drain the coolant system partially, and the Wiper Motor module after it to work with the ect sensor. Remove the ect sensor from the water crossover and disconnect the electrical connector. Apply a non-hardening type of sealer to the sensor threads prior to installation, p/n 1050805 or the equivalent. Tighten the ect sensor into the water crossover to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Reconnect the electrical connector to the ect sensor, reinstall and fill the coolant system.
