How to replace the horizontal seat motor on 2004 Cadillac CTS?

Disabling the SIR system becomes necessary before starting replacement work on the horizontal seat adjuster motor. Access the motor through the seat cushion removal while you disconnect its electrical connectors. Start by removing the screws from the adjuster motor's top section before you can pull the drive cable through the motor. The next step involves removing both the seat adjuster motor and the brief drive cable that belongs to the seat adjuster. After positioning the short drive cable inside the seat adjuster with the square end facing the motor you should slide the motor along the cable. Mount the long drive cable through the motor opening before feeding it into the seat adjuster which should be fully inserted. Fasten the motor retaining screws with 5 Nm torque (44 lb in) tension. Complete the connection of electrical cables and return the seat cushion to its position. You need to activate the SIR system along with seat calibration if your vehicle has memory seat functionality.
