How to replace the primary cam gear and timing chain on 2005 Cadillac CTS?

To replace the timing chain and sprockets, you should first remove the engine front cover. Second, remove the right bank secondary Timing Chain Tensioner and to top it off the right bank secondary timing chain shoe and guide. Then, take out the right bank secondary drive chain and the Timing Chain Tensioner. Then extract the timing chain upper guide and the primary camshaft timing chain. For the installation, install the primary camshaft timing chain, followed by the primary upper Timing Chain Guide and the Timing Chain Tensioner. Go ahead and install the right bank secondary timing chain, the right bank secondary Timing Chain Guide, and shoe, and, lastly, the right bank secondary Timing Chain Tensioner. The ultimate step in this process is reinstalling the engine front cover.
