• Q: How to replace the fuel injectors and fuel rail on 2005 Cadillac CTS?

  A: The fuel system pressure must be eliminated before starting the Fuel Injector and Fuel Rail replacement process. After removing both Intake Manifold assemblies you must disconnect the fuel feed pipe from the Fuel Injector rail by removing its retaining clip. Use compressed air through safety glasses to clean debris located where fuel injectors access the Intake Manifold. The Fuel Rail must be retrieved after taking out its bolts to remove the rail with injectors and supporting it to protect connector terminals and spray tips from damage. Protect the exposed fittings by applying caps and use plugging tools to secure all holes against external contamination. Separate the Fuel Injector electrical connection before removing the retainer clip and the Fuel Injector device while discarding the previous Fuel Injector seal components. Installation requires users to position new Fuel Injector seals before adding the Fuel Injector into place and using the retainer clip to fix it. Engage the lock after reconnection of the Fuel Injector electrical connector. Successfully install the Fuel Rail by fitting in the fuel injectors and torque the Fuel Rail bolts to a value of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Set the fuel feed pipe to connect to the Fuel Rail after installing the fuel pipe retaining clip then replace the upper Intake Manifold.
