How to replace the generator drive belt on 2005 Cadillac STS?

A driver first must remove belts from the air conditioning system along with power steering and water pump before trying to replace the generator Drive Belt. By rotating the generator belt tensioner clockwise you will eliminate the tension which allows you to slip the generator Drive Belt off the generator pulley . Let the tensioner resume its relaxed state before taking off the Drive Belt from its pulley positions. You must direct the new generator Drive Belt to the Crankshaft Pulley during installation and the tensioner. Afterwards you must rotate the tensioner in a clockwise direction. The route for the belt should start at the generator pulley followed by checking proper belt seating in accessory drive pulley grooves. First inspect the belt seating before reinstallation of the air conditioning and power steering and water pump belts.
