The first task in changing the air conditioning compressor together with the power steering pump belt starts with removing the generator and water pump Drive Belt. You should uninstall power steering fluid reservoir mounting nuts and set the reservoir in place without severing fluid lines. The Drive Belt tensioner must be manually rotated clockwise to create tension relief after which the Drive Belt can be removed from behind the tensioner while reaching through the side of the tensioner pulley near the lower reservoir mounting nut. Leave the Drive Belt tensioner to settle in its natural state before moving the belt from the whole set of pulleys. The new Drive Belt should be installed by passing it through all accessory drive pulleys while skipping the tensioner unit as well as the Water Pump Pulley . The Drive Belt tensioner should be rotated clockwise and the Drive Belt should slide behind the tensioner before routing around the tensioner pulley while working from the side of the tensioner near the lower mounting nut. Finally, direct the belt under the Water Pump Pulley. Check that the Drive Belt enjoys proper alignment inside the accessory drive pulleys before releasing the Drive Belt tensioner for a seating inspection. The last step includes placing back the power steering fluid reservoir and the air cleaner outlet duct followed by reinstalling the fuel injector sight shield.

The replacement of the Drive Belt needs to begin by removing the fuel injector sight shield before removing the air cleaner outlet duct. A crankshaft driven cooling fan requires bracket removal prior to starting the work. First use a clockwise motion on the Drive Belt tensioner to free up the tension then easily remove the Drive Belt past the Water Pump Pulley by accessing it next to the lower reservoir mounting nut at the tensioner pulley side. The procedure starts with rotating the Drive Belt tensioner clockwise and placing the Drive Belt behind the tensioner before routing it around both tensioner pulleys while accessing the pulley from its position near the lower reservoir mounting nut. Then move the belt underneath the Water Pump Pulley. Check that the Drive Belt sits correctly in all accessory drive pulleys' grooves before letting go of the tensioner to inspect the belt position. Once finished work on the necessary components you should reinstall the Cooling Fan Bracket and next put back the air cleaner outlet duct before finally installing the fuel injector sight shield.

Take off the drive belt from the water pump pulley and crankshaft balancer.

Remove the drive belt from the power steering pulley and slowly release the tensioner.

Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise.

Release the drive belt tensioner and inspect the drive belt for proper seating in the accessory drive pulleys.

Take off the drive belt from the air conditioning (A/C) compressor pulley, idler pulley, and crankshaft balancer.

Rotate the tensioner clockwise and install the drive belt onto the water pump.

Slide the drive belt off the water pump pulley and slowly release the tensioner.

Route the new generator drive belt to the crankshaft pulley and the tensioner.

Position the drive belt onto the crankshaft pulley, the tensioner, and the generator.

Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise.

Slide the generator drive belt off the generator pulley.

Remove the front compartment sight shield as necessary.

Take off the drive belt from the power steering pulley and slowly release the tensioner.

Reinstall the generator and water pump drive belt.

Slide the drive belt off the water pump pulley and remove it from the accessory drive pulleys.

Ensure that the drive belt is properly aligned and seated into the grooves of the accessory drive pulleys before slowly releasing the tensioner.
