How to replace the drive belt for the generator and water pump on 2007 Cadillac STS?

First remove the front compartment sight shield if needed before replacing the Drive Belt which serves the Water Pump and generator and generator. Users should rotate the Drive Belt tensioner in a clockwise direction to achieve tension release and remove the Drive Belt from the Water Pump Pulley before easing tension from the tensioner mechanism. The Drive Belt removal starts by pulling it out from the accessory drive pulleys. Installation begins with setting the Drive Belt on the Crankshaft Pulley, the tensioner and the generator before using a clockwise rotation to position the belt on the Water Pump. The Drive Belt needs correct alignment and complete seating within accessory drive pulley grooves before the tensioner should be slackened up. The front compartment sight shield requires reinstallation at this point.
