How to Replace the Rear Transmission Oil Cooler Hose in AWD on 2007 Cadillac STS?

The first step for replacing the rear transmission fluid cooler pipe requires engine Oil Filter removal followed by extraction of the left hand (LH) intermediate shaft bearing assembly. The transmission cooler quick connect (J 44827) allows disconnecting front transmission oil cooler (TOC) lines from the rear toc lines before you remove the rear toc line to transmission retainer bolt and disconnect the rear toc lines from the transmission. First remove the bolt retaining the toc retainer bracket before discarding the o-rings and both toc retainer bracket bolts. The retainer bracket rivets require drilling out after disconnection of the toc lines that must be removed individually while repositioning the lines for access. Begin the installation process by installing the toc lines followed by the retainer bracket which requires attachment to the toc lines while performing riveting for assembly. Fit the toc retainer bracket bolt with the torque set to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) before installing new o-rings to the rear toc lines which will be attached to the transmission. The installation process requires the rear toc line to be fixed to the transmission retainer bolt with a torque of 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Once the rear toc lines are connected to the front toc lines reassemble the lh intermediate shaft bearing assembly and then install the engine Oil Filter.
