How to replace the right secondary camshaft timing chain guide on 2005 Cadillac STS?

The replacement of the right Timing Chain guide begins by removing the right Timing Chain tensioner together with the right Camshaft position actuator housing before detaching the Camshaft actuator solenoids. The crankshaft socket (J39946) should be used to turn the crankshaft so both Camshaft position actuator timing marks reach their highest possible position. Insert the Camshaft holding tool (EN 46328) onto the camshafts. Use paint sticks to mark Timing Chain links next to both Camshaft position actuator timing marks and identify one primary chain link as well as one intermediate primary chain sprocket tooth. An open-end wrench should be applied to the hex cast on the right intake Camshaft to prevent rotation before removing the right intake oil control valve. Work to detach the right intake Camshaft actuator from the Camshaft by first removing all sprocket teeth from the Timing Chain then taking out the actuator itself. The procedure calls for unbolting the Timing Chain guide before removing it together with the right Timing Chain guide. After cleaning all Camshaft timing drive components you begin inspection. The right front Cylinder Head requires placement of the right Timing Chain guide before installing its guide bolt with 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) torque setting. Install the right intake actuator to the Timing Chain so its timing mark faces the previously noted chain link. First attach the oil control valve to the intake actuator and Camshaft by hand but apply an open-end wrench to maintain stability before securing the valve at 120 nm (89 ft. Lbs.). You must complete installation by placing the right Timing Chain tensioner which leads to verification of sprocket timing marks and assembly of the right Camshaft actuator housing.
