    Q:
How to replace the primary upper timing chain guide on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement of the primary upper Timing Chain Guide begins with removal of the engine front cover through the engine front cover replacement (Tool Required: Engine Front Cover Tool). Start by removing the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner through the process of primary camshaft intermediate drive chain tensioner replacement (Tool Required: Camshaft Tensioner Tool). The next step involves removing the primary upper camshaft drive chain guide through usage of the primary Timing Chain Guide removal - upper tool which requires the Timing Chain Guide tool. You should begin the installation process by setting the primary upper camshaft drive chain guide using the primary Timing Chain Guide removal - lower from the Timing Chain Guide tool. The primary camshaft drive chain tensioner should be reinstalled by using the primary camshaft intermediate drive chain tensioner installation (Tool Required: Camshaft Tensioner Tool). Complete the reinstallation of engine front cover using an engine front cover tool.

    Q:
How to replace the primary camshaft timing chain guide on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process for the Timing Chain Guide starts with removal of both right side and left side secondary camshaft drive chain components. The technician should remove the right side secondary camshaft drive chain shoe and guide followed by the left side secondary camshaft drive chain shoe and guide. First remove the oil outlet tube from the engine and the Timing Chain Tensioner from the system. Separate the bolts which fasten the Timing Chain Guide to the engine block and remove the guide component. Tested components of the camshaft timing drive require cleaning before starting the installation process. Fit the Timing Chain Guide along with its retaining bolts while torquing them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Put back the Timing Chain Tensioner together with the oil outlet tube onto the engine. Install the left side secondary camshaft drive chain guide and shoe before you put on the right side secondary camshaft drive chain guide and shoe. Put back both the left and right side secondary camshaft drive chains.
