How to replace the LH secondary camshaft Timing Chain Guide on 2007 Cadillac SRX?

The first step to replace the left Timing Chain guide includes removal of the left Timing Chain Tensioner together with the left Camshaft position actuator housing while leaving the Camshaft actuator solenoids intact. Proceed with rotating the crankshaft by using the crankshaft socket (J 39946) until both Camshaft position actuator timing marks reach their highest point in rotation. A Camshaft holding tool must be installed onto the camshafts. Use a paint stick to create marks on both the Timing Chain link next to each Camshaft position actuator timing mark and also identify a primary chain link along with an intermediate primary chain sprocket tooth. An open-end wrench should be fitted onto the left exhaust Camshaft hex cast to prevent rotation before the left exhaust oil control valve is removed. Use a wrench on the hex in the left exhaust Camshaft to secure the Camshaft stationary while you slide off the actuator from the Camshaft position and separate the sprocket teeth from the Timing Chain. Begin by removing the left Timing Chain guide bolt along with its component and clean and inspect all timing drive parts. To install the left Timing Chain guide you should position it through the left front Cylinder Head and screw in the guide bolt before tightening it to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Fit the left exhaust actuator to the Timing Chain and position it with the actuator timing mark pointed at the previous chain link. Then install the oil control valve loosely to fasten the exhaust actuator to the Camshaft. Prevent the Camshaft from rotating by using an open-end wrench during the 120 n.m (89 lb ft) tightening process of the oil control valve. Install the left Timing Chain Tensioner following the same procedure for marking the paint marks on the sprocket timing marks before fixing the left Camshaft actuator housing.
