The crankshaft balancer needs to be placed on the crankshaft nose then installed through the j 41998-b crankshaft balancer installer (J 41998-B). Apply engine oil to threads of the crankshaft balancer bolt before cleaning them. Screw the crankshaft balancer bolt into place and tighten it to 50 n.m (37 lb ft) during the first stage and add 120 degrees using the j 45059 angle meter (J 45059) for the second stage of tightening. Afterward you must reinstall the transmission bell housing inspection hole cover followed by vehicle descent before installing the accessory drive belts.
