How to replace the left muffler on 2005 Cadillac XLR?

Start by lifting and securely supporting your vehicle before beginning left Muffler replacement. Sliding the exhaust Muffler out from hanger requires first loosening its clamp on the left side. Create marks on the intermediate Exhaust Pipe where the Muffler band clamp existed before welding it off from the Muffler band clamp. Place the new Muffler band clamp onto the intermediate Exhaust Pipe and slide the left Muffler into its hanger housing. Use the previous alignment mark to position the new Muffler band clamp on the intermediate Exhaust Pipe. Keep the clamp bolt above the Exhaust Pipe at all times. Torque the right side exhaust Muffler clamp to 44 nm (32 ft. Lbs.) before lowering the vehicle.
