2005 Chevrolet Astro Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the ignition coil on 2005 Chevrolet Astro?
A: The repair process starts by removing the engine cover followed by electrical connector disconnection. Start by removing the Ignition Coil wire from the Distributor followed by pulling out the studs which hold both bracket and Ignition Coil to the Intake Manifold. Once you remove the bracket and Ignition Coil you need to drill and punch out the two rivets securing the Ignition Coil to the bracket so you can uninstall the coil from its bracket. To install the Ignition Coil follow the instructions using the two screws which come with the replacement Ignition Coil kit. Install the Ignition Coil bracket to the Intake Manifold through the studs by tightening them to 11 n.m (97 lb in). Reconnect the Ignition Coil wire in a manner which avoids contact with the dip stick to stop aging-related shorting and grounding. Reconnect the electrical connectors while you reinstall the engine cover.
