2005 Chevrolet Classic Fuel Level Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fuel level sensor on 2005 Chevrolet Classic?
A: The replacement process of the Fuel Level Sensor starts with removing the fuel sender assembly. The first step involves removing the Fuel Pump and Fuel Level Sensor electrical retaining clip situated at the fuel sender assembly top. After that disconnect the Fuel Pump and Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector. Press on the three attaching tabs of the upper fuel tank while lifting it away from the lower reservoir. To remove the Fuel Level Sensor wires start by depressing the tab of the sensor housing and moving it upward until it exits the housing properly. Following removal of the sensor cut its electrical retaining clip away before taking out the wires from their designated connector positions. Insert the Fuel Level Sensor into the housing by lowering it while directing the wires beneath the sensor so the tab achieves secure position. Following this step starts with placing the upper reservoir inside the lower reservoir. Connect the wires into the connector followed by securing it with the retaining clip. Reposition the fuel sender assembly while securing the Fuel Pump and Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector with the helping clip.
