• Q: How to replace the Neutral Safety Switch on 2005 Chevrolet Corvette?

  A: The process to replace the park/neutral position switch starts by lifting the vehicle and then supporting it, but the same time remove the intermediate Exhaust Pipe and let the lh Muffler assembly hang down. Shift the transmission into neutral then take off the nuts which secure the transmission shift control cable bracket to the transmission. Mount the governor switch positioning bolts tightly at 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs) and unmount the tool. Mount the transmission range selector (shift) lever to the manual shaft with an upright position by securing the retaining nut with a wrench and tighten it in against the manual shaft to a torque of 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Connect the park/neutral switch electrical connectors, install the transmission shift control cable and bracket, align the shift control cable end to the shift lever stud on the transmission, and carefully install the shift control cable end clip. Finally, have the nuts retaining the transmission shift control cable bracket to the transmission get tightened to 20 nm (15 ft.
