  A: Products needed to service Valve Stem Oil Seal repairs and replace Valve Stem Oil Seal and spring are Spark Plug port adapter (J22794) and valve spring compressor (Head-on) (J38606). Install the Spark Plug port adapter (J22794) into the Spark Plug hole before adding an air hose to it when preparing the valve rocker arms and Spark Plug for removal. A plastic face hammer helps to remove valve stem varnish but using it only on the tip of the stem. To remove the valve stem keys starts with mounting the valve spring compressor (Head-on) (J38606) onto the valve spring. Push the valve spring compressor backwards to loosen pressure before removing it along with other parts including valve spring cap, valve spring, and Valve Stem Oil Seal with its spacer. You need to prepare the sleeve seat area before putting on the Valve Stem Oil Seal and shim. Placing the Valve Stem Oil Seal in its right position on the valve guide stops engine oil leakage and reduces exhaust pollution. Apply engine oil to valve guide then Valve Stem Oil Seal before pushing down the seal onto valve stem until it meets the guide. Put the valve spring onto the spring compressor j38606 and push it down before fitting the spring into the Cylinder Head above the valve stem. Install the spring cap and keys at their correct locations. Apply grease to secure the keys correctly in the valve stem grooves before taking out the valve spring compressor (J38606). Lower valve spring pressure slowly while keeping the valve keys positioned correctly and take out the valve spring compressor (J38606). Strike the bottom of the valve stem with a plastic face hammer if needed to keep the keys in position. Deposit the air hose from the Spark Plug port adapter j22794 before taking it out from the Spark Plug opening. Check the valve spring installed height after installation; if the reading reaches 46.25 mm (1.82 inch) or more apply a 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) thick valve spring shim ensuring the total height remains above the specified 46.25mm. Shift the air hose off the Spark Plug port adapter j22794 then put the Spark Plug in and return the valve rocker arms.
