  A: Before starting Water Pump replacement you need to empty the cooling system until you meet the pump. Press loosen the Water Pump Pulley bolts to use the serpentine belt tensioner unloader (J 39914) on the Drive Belt tensioner to relieve its tension. Lower tension on the Drive Belt by releasing the j 39914 at the right idler pulley and then remove the Drive Belt from the tensioner. Discard the Water Pump Pulley bolt before you take off both the Water Pump Pulley and Water Pump assembly. Clean the surface areas of the Water Pump before installing the new gasket. Place the Water Pump Gasket on the desired location and tightly attach the Water Pump to its position. Apply 10 nm torque to the Water Pump bolts when installing them. Settle the Water Pump Pulley in position before putting on its bolts at half torque. Position the Drive Belt in the correct center position except at the right idler pulley before tightening the j 39914 to pull the Drive Belt tensioner away from the belt for installation. You can now release the j 39914 tool to let the Drive Belt tensioner contact the Drive Belt properly. Then remove j 39914 from the tensioner less validate that the Drive Belt comes in contact with all 8 pulleys equally before fixing Water Pump Pulley bolts at 25 nm pressure. At last pour the coolant into the system and examine every part for fluid loss.
