How to replace the water pump (RPO LNJ) (3.4L) on Chevrolet Equinox?

Before working on the Water Pump (RPO LNJ) (3.4L) you must drain the cooling system until the pump is submerged in air. Using the j 39914 tool rotate the Drive Belt tensioner with the Water Pump Pulley bolts loose to let tension off before taking the Drive Belt from the right idler pulley. Lower the j 39914 tool to properly reduce Drive Belt tensioner pressure as you take it off from the tensioner. After taking off the Water Pump Pulley bolts you need to remove the pulley itself and then the Water Pump pivots and the Water Pump alongside the Water Pump Gasket . Prepare the Water Pump surfaces for new gasket installation while fitting in the Water Pump. Use a torque wrench to fasten the Water Pump bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Attach the Water Pump Pulley and insert the bolts using loose finger tightness. After centering your Drive Belt on every pulley area except the right idler pulley , push down the j39914 to move the Drive Belt tensioner out from the belt. Install the belt over the right idler pulley. Release the j 39914 gently so the Drive Belt tensioner connects with the Drive Belt. Take the j 39914 off the tensioner after contact occurs. Look at the belt position to make sure it sits in the middle of every pulley (1-8) before tightening Water Pump Pulley bolts to 25 n.m. At last add coolant and look for fluid leaks.
