How to replace the surge tank outlet coolant pipe on 2005 Chevrolet Malibu?

Draining coolant serves as the starting point for surge tank outlet hose/pipe replacement. You can free the surge tank from its bracket by flexing the mounting tabs outward before taking it out from the bracket. Insert hose clamp pliers (J 38185) at the surge tank outlet hose clamp to shift its position at the surge tank before removing the outlet hose. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) help you reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the Radiator before extracting the surge tank outlet hose from its position on the Radiator. First, raise the vehicle and detach the surge tank outlet hose from its hose clip before removing surge tank outlet hose clamps which secure the hose to the surge tank outlet. Thorough installation requires fitting surge tank outlet hose clamps onto the surge tank outlet hose before connecting it to the surge tank hose clip. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to install the Radiator hose clamp while lowering the vehicle and connecting the surge tank outlet hose. Reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the surge tank through use of hose clamp pliers (J 38185) after attaching the hose to the surge tank. After reinstalling the left headlamp assembly proceed with hose clamp placement at the surge tank (J 38185). The surge tank needs tilting to position the weld seam correctly under the mounting bracket's rear ribs then users should press down until the tabs lock and add coolant.
