How to replace the trailing arm on 2005 Chevrolet Malibu?

The procedure to replace a Trailing Arm starts by lifting the vehicle with support before removing the tire and wheel assembly. Following that remove the two bolts attaching the Trailing Arm bracket to the vehicle's body while also disconnecting the Trailing Arm bolt that links it to the knuckle. First disconnect the Parking Brake Cable attached to the Trailing Arm before removing it from the vehicle and then remove the Trailing Arm to bracket bolt and nut to free the Trailing Arm from its bracket. For installation, assemble the Trailing Arm and bracket, tightening the Trailing Arm to bracket through bolt to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.) plus 60 degrees. Mount the Trailing Arm onto the vehicle then secure it with Trailing Arm to knuckle bolts according to a torque value of 180 nm (133 ft. Lbs.). Reconnect the Parking Brake Cable to the Trailing Arm, then install the Trailing Arm bracket to body bolts, tightening them to 90 nm (66 ft. Lbs.) next apply 30 degrees of torque followed by another 15 degrees on top of that. Put the wheel and tire back into place before decreasing the height of the vehicle.
