How to replace the rear brake line on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?

You need to elevate your vehicle to access and extract its tire and wheel parts before starting the brake hose replacement. Eliminate any dirt and foreign objects from both brake hose and pipe mounting ends. Place a rubber plug over the brake pipe fitting ends after you disconnect the rear brake hose with a back up wrench to avoid losing and contaminating brake fluid. First take off the brake frame bolt and separate the brake hose from the caliper by removing its bolt here. Take care to remove metal gaskets that may attach themselves to the brake caliper or brake hose end before disposing of them. You should only use new copper gaskets during installation when installing the bolt for the rear brake caliper. Thread the rear brake hose to the rear brake caliper and lock it with 44 nm torque (23 ft. Lbs.). Unplug the rubber protection from the rear brake pipe fitting then link the brake hose to the brake pipe. Secure the rear brake pipe fitting using a back up wrench at 20 nm (18 ft. Lbs). Thread the brake pipe retainer bolt into the frame opening and fasten it tightly to 20 nm torque setting. Complete the brake job by bleeding the hydraulic system then putting back the tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.
