2005 Chevrolet Venture Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on 2005 Chevrolet Venture?
A: To replace the air conditioning condenser, one would have first to recover refrigerant from the a/c system and drain the cooling system. Remove the cooling fans and its cooling Fan Shroud, then move the hose clamps with the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) and loose the Radiator lower hose that should be removed next. Unscrew the lower toc line from the Radiator, the a/c discharge hose nut and the a/c discharge hose from the condenser block. Respond quickly to seal off the exposed a/c refrigerant parts, such as the a/c discharge hose and the evaporator inlet tube as soon as its bolt and connects it to the condenser block have been removed. After that, the next step would be to take out the Radiator and condenser assembly, then the condenser tube clip bolt and clip, and finally the mounting bolts that would attach the condenser to the Radiator. Take out the receiver dehydrator from its joints with the condenser by removing the upper bracket bolt on it and lower mounting bolts on it and dispose of sealing washers. With replacement of the condenser, add the stated quantity of pag oil to it, followed by installing brand-new sealing washers to the receiver dehydrator and connecting it to the condenser. Make sure that you install the appropriate fasteners at the appropriate locations and you use a torque wrench for applying torque on the receiver dehydrator lower mounting bolts and upper bracket bolt to 6 nm (53 lb in). Mount the condenser onto the Radiator and attach it with 6 nm (53 lb in) torque on the mounting bolts before proceeding to the condenser tube clip and its corresponding bolt with 2.5 nm (22 lb in). Reinstall the Radiator and condenser assembly, remove the caps/tape off the evaporator inlet tube and a/c discharge hose and install new sealing washers to its fittings. Connect evaporator inlet tube and bolt to condenser block, tighten bolt to 16 nm (12 lb ft), and then connect the lower toc line to Radiator attaches and installs the Radiator lower hose. Tighten the hose with the hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Lastly, replace the cooling fans back in the cooling Fan Shroud, fill up the cooling system, evacuate and recharge the a/c system, and run a leak check on the fittings with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
