Disconnect the electrical connector from the shift control adaptor plate then move it aside. Initial step involves detaching the shift control assembly from the shift control adaptor plate through removal of two bolts. This procedure should be followed by removing the four nuts securing the shift control adaptor plate to the tunnel reinforcement. Remove the shift control boot combined with adaptor plate assembly inside the vehicle. Reinstall the shift control boot and adaptor plate assembly into the vehicle before using 4 nuts to fasten the shift control adaptor plate to the tunnel reinforcement while tightening them to 12 Nm torque (106 inch lbs.).
