The procedure begins with unscrewing the 2 bolts which hold the shift control assembly to the shift control adaptor plate and continuing with removing 4 nuts that secure the shift control adaptor plate to the tunnel reinforcement. Extract the combination of shift control boot and adaptor plate assembly from the current vehicle. Reinstall the shift control boot alongside adaptor plate assembly inside the vehicle before securing the 4 nuts to the tunnel reinforcement by torquing them to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.). Lift the shift control lever to touch the shift control adaptor plate before installing the 2 bolts that will hold the assembly to the plate by tightening them to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.). The electrical connector must be connected to the shift control adaptor plate before putting back the sound insulator foam block in the console and finishing with the shift control knob/boot assembly.

The installation begins with removing the shift control assembly's 2 bolts from the component's connection to the shift control adaptor plate. Afterward install the plate's 4 nuts to fasten it to the tunnel reinforcement. Drain out the shift control boot assembly and adaptor plate from the vehicle. Secure the shift control adaptor plate to the tunnel reinforcement by installing the 4 nuts and torque them to 12 N.m (106 lb in). Lift the shift control lever until it reaches the shift control adaptor plate and install the 2 bolts for assembly retention by torqueing them to 18 N.m (13 lb ft). Attach the electrical connector to the shift control adaptor plate while also returning the sound insulator foam block to its console position and finishing with the shift control knob/boot assembly installation.
