• Q: How to replace a fuel injector on 2006 Cadillac DTS?

  A: In order to replace the Fuel Injector first you have to remove the Fuel Rail followed by removal of Fuel Injector Fuel Rail clip and then Fuel Injector. Remove old upper and lower o-ring seals. Once the new o-rings are installed, do ensure that they are in the correct position to avoid leaks in fuel; if the o-rings are of different colors then, place the blue o-ring in the upper position and the black o-ring in the lower position since they are of the same size but with different materials involved. Always use the proper part number when ordering the replacement fuel injectors, and replace o-ring seal whenever servicing the injectors to prevent vacuum leaks and driveability problems. Smooth the new o-ring seals by using clean engine oil and then attach the new upper and lower injector o-ring seals on the Fuel Injector. Then put the Fuel Injector back into the Fuel Rail, attach it with the Fuel Injector Fuel Rail clip , and then re-install the Fuel Rail.
