Begin by removing the Fuel Rail with care to minimize damage to the Fuel Injector electricity pins and nozzles and do not place fuel injectors into any cleaning fluid as they consist of electric parts. Service all parts of the Fuel Injector unit while replacing the o-rings because fuel leakage into engine oil can occur; perform this step during every service procedure. Start the procedure by breaking free of the Fuel Injector retainers then successively pulling out the fuel injectors and disposing of the upper and lower o-ring seals. The selection process for new injectors requires choosing the right one for the specific application since each injector carries manufacturing information consisting of part number identification and production plant number along with a manufacturing date and week code. New o-ring seals require engine oil lubrication previous to installation onto the injectors where the technician should place upper seal types first and lower seal types last. The technician then installs the fuel injectors along with the Fuel Injector retainers. Finally, reinstall the Fuel Rail.

The first step to replace a Fuel Injector entails removing the Fuel Rail before taking out both the Fuel Injector Fuel Rail clip and the injector itself. You should dispose of existing o-ring seals positioned above and below the part. When inserting new o-rings they should be correctly positioned to prevent fires and fuel leak-related personal injuries so place blue o-rings on the upper position while black o-rings should go on the lower position because both seals share similar dimensions but come from disparate materials. Replacements of Fuel Injector o-ring seals should happen during all servicing sessions because implementing the accurate seal prevents driveability problems and vacuum leak occurrences. The new o-ring seals receive engine oil lubrication before you install them onto the Fuel Injector as upper and lower components. After placement of the Fuel Injector inside the Fuel Rail you need to use the Fuel Injector Fuel Rail clip to fasten it followed by reinstalling the Fuel Rail.

A mechanics must lower high side fuel system pressure prior to removing fuel injectors from the llt (3.6L) engine. Keep track of the injector alignment positions since it will help with correct installation. Onward from fuel injection Fuel Rail assembly removal you can discard the three Fuel Injector retaining rings. The direct fuel injectors should be extracted as a single unit by disconnecting their electrical connector while using j 2619-01 with j-37281-a if additional even removal assistance is required. The fuel injectors require the removal of their upper o-ring seal together with the plastic spacer, retaining ring, isolator cup and teflon seal. Clean up the Fuel Rail injector bores with the j 39313 alongside en-47909 tools provided there is a necessity for cleaning. Apply gm p/n 12345610 (Canadian P/N 993193) or equivalent silicon-free engine oil to a new o-ring seal before inserting the upper o-ring seal followed by plastic spacer, retaining ring, isolator cup and teflon seal onto the fuel injectors. Install the en-48266-1 to the injector tip without teflon seal lubrication before pushing the new teflon seal into its injector groove. Insert the en-48266-2 onto the injector tip and resize the teflon seal using light force during en-48266-2 rotation. Set the electrical wiring in the correct path to prevent any damage before building the direct fuel injectors and harness together by connecting their electrical connector. Reposition the fuel injection Fuel Rail assembly as the final step.

Carefully take out the fuel injector retaining clip and remove the fuel injector from the fuel rail.

Replace the O-rings whenever servicing the injectors to prevent vacuum leaks and driveability issues.

Instruct them to add the remainder at the next fill-up and to change fuel brands and use the cleaner every 5000 km (3,000 mi) to maintain injector cleanliness.

To prevent fuel leaks and potential contamination of engine oil.

First, remove the fuel rail.

Install the new upper and lower injector O-ring seals onto the fuel injector.

Secure it with the fuel injector fuel rail clip.

First, relieve the high side fuel system pressure.

Reconnect the negative battery cable.

Ensure the electrical connectors are oriented perpendicular to the crankshaft centerline.

Relieve the fuel system pressure using CH 48027 or without it.

Note the position of the injectors for proper alignment during installation.

Partially drain the charge air cooling system.
