  • Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 2 on 2006 Cadillac DTS?
    A: To replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 2, when working with the oxygen sensors, be extremely careful and ensure that all the time working on the sensors, the electrical connector and the exhaust inlet end are free of spills, do not clean and do not apply cleaning solvents. Make sure the engine has a temperature of at least 48°C (120°F) to facilitate removal. First unplug the heat shield from the Oxygen sensor wiring harness, then remove the engine harness electrical connector from the HO2S, and finally remove the sensor. When installing, apply a special anti-seize compound to the HO2S that is made up of liquid graphite and glass beads. They recommend if reusing the old sensor to coat threads with anti-seize compound GM P/N 12377953 or equivalent. Put the HO2S and tighten it to 41 N.m (30 lb ft), reconnect the engine harness electrical connector, and finally, reconnect the oxygen sensor wiring harness heat shield.
