- Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 2 Sensor 1 on 2006 Cadillac DTS?A: Cautiously handle heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) bank 2 sensor 1 while preventing damage by maintaining both the electrical connector and exhaust inlet end free of contaminants without using cleaning solvents. The engine must reach a minimum temperature of 48°c (120°F) so you can remove things more easily. Start by taking away the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer along with the air deflector and removing the engine harness electrical connector from the ho2s. Pull out the ho2s clip from the engine bracket then extract the ho2s from the bracket. During installation use anti-seize compound, gm p/n 12377953 or equivalent to coat threads on the old ho2s when planning to reuse it. This special anti-seize compound contains liquid graphite and glass beads to ease future removal. Tighten the ho2s with 41 n.m (30 lb ft) torque. Install the cpa retainer before connecting the engine harness electrical connector to the ho2s device while you also reinstall the ho2s clip onto the engine bracket and place back the air deflector.
