2006 Cadillac SRX Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2006 Cadillac SRX?
A: Start by taking off power connection from brake fluid sensor and pipes that connect to the master cylinder. Use rubber safety caps to seal open brake pipe fittings before brake fluid can escape or become dirty. Dismantle the support bracket push nut from the master cylinder stud before gently sliding the bracket aside. Unbolt the master cylinder at two spots and take out the assembly. When you will reuse the reservoir separate it from the master cylinder unit. You should bench bleed the master cylinder first before attaching the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir to it if you removed it. Place the vacuum Brake Booster with the master cylinder and fasten the 2 mounting nuts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Try the air inlet panel support bracket onto the master cylinder mounting stud then install the push nut. Connect the brake pipes to the master cylinder and fasten them with 38 nm torque before installing them entirely. Fit the electrical connector to the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and perform brake bleeding.
