How to replace the drum brake backing plate on 2006 Chevrolet Aveo?

Begin the backing plate replacement process by properly lifting and stabilizing the vehicle. Take out all brake shoe elements as well as the parking brake system complete with its retainer. Detach Wheel Hub nuts from the backing plate after disconnecting the Brake Line but keep fluid sealed off in a plug. Take off both the Wheel Cylinder assembly and Wheel Hub assembly unit. You need to disconnect abs cable from Wheel Speed Sensor and separate the backing plate from its gasket when abs is present. To install the assembly apply the backing plate with its new gasket onto the Wheel Hub then position the abs hub correctly. Install the wheel back plate assembly into the rear axle and bolt it down when the Wheel Speed Sensor needs reconnection. Turn the brake Wheel Hub/backing plate-to-rear axle nuts to 28 nm (21 ft. Lbs. Torque). Mount the brake Wheel Cylinder on the backing plate and attach the Brake Line before tightening it at 16 newton meters (12 foot pounds). Reassemble all brake parts and guide the Parking Brake Cable through the retainer to its connection point on the brake shoe lever. Complete braking system maintenance by releasing air from the brake lines then lower the vehicle down.
