2006 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heater Core on 2006 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: The first step starts with hood elevation followed by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable with safety precautions in place. Begin by removing both the instrument panel assembly and heater/air distribution case from the vehicle. Start by detaching the linkage screw from the lower Heater Core cover post then remove the linkage lever while keeping track of all levers for future assembly. You should carefully extract all screws from the Heater Core cover while taking appropriate measures to prevent damage to linkage levers. Detach the lower Heater Core cover from the assembly at a slow pace while keeping the sealant intact before removing the Heater Core lines retaining screw and bracket clamp and spring clamp that secures the Heater Core body to the case. Extraction of the Heater Core from its case completes the installation process. Post-installation you should position the new Heater Core inside the case while securing the Heater Core lines with both the retaining bracket clamp and screw. Place the Heater Core body within its retaining spring clamp while you reapply sealant to the Heater Core cover mounting channel flange before securing the cover using its retaining screws. Complete the installation by adding the linkage lever onto the cover post with the screw while testing the proper functioning of heater/air distribution case doors actuating levers before putting back the heater/air distribution case and instrument panel assembly. Add coolant to the system after reconnecting the negative battery terminal.
