    A: The first steps to replacing the Rack And Pinion are to disconnect the negative Battery Cable. Adjust the Steering Wheel in a straight position and remove the intermediate shaft and the front tires. Next, undo the outside tie rod hex nuts. For Ball Joint separation use km-507-c Ball Joint removel to pull off the Ball Joint hex nuts and disconnect the stabilizer shaft from the knuckle by pulling off the stabilizer shaft link assembly. Take out the cross member by removing its nuts and bolts that hold it on the underbody and remove the Rack And Pinion assembly by removing steering gear retaining bracket nuts. For installation, attach the Rack And Pinion assembly, tighten the steering gear retaining bracket nuts, torqued to 50 n. M (37 lb ft), reinstall the cross member and torqued nuts and bolts to 150 n. M (111 lb ft). Replace the hex nuts and the stabilizer shaft to the knuckle and tighten them to 45 n.m (33 lb ft). Put on the outer tie rod hex nuts, front tires, intermediate shaft and the Steering Wheel and column. Lastly, reconnect the negative Battery Cable, check the vehicle, check the wheel alignment, and adjust the front toe if needed.
