How to replace the drum brake backing plate on 2006 Chevrolet Colorado?

In order to change the drum brake backing plate, elevate the car and disconnect the park brake cable. Then take off the wheel cylinder and the axle shaft in the rear, and then the backing plate mounting bolts. Install the new backing plate, screw the bolts and restore the rest of the wheel cylinder and park brake cables and then lower the vehicle.
