How to replace the EGR Tube on 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?

The first step to replace the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe is removing the injector sight shield. First detach the bolt securing the egr pipe to the EGR Valve. Then remove the 2 bolts retaining the egr pipe to the Exhaust Manifold. After these procedures remove the egr pipe together with the egr pipe to Exhaust Manifold gasket. Start by placing the new egr pipe to Exhaust Manifold gasket on the engine bay before proceeding to install the egr pipe with 2 bolts securely fastened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Screw in the bolt for egr pipe attachment to the EGR Valve until it reaches 30 n.m (22 lb ft) torque. Put the injector sight shield back into position as the last installation step.
