The first step when replacing the secondary Fuel Level Sensor demands removal of the Fuel Tank and purchasing a new Fuel Tank module seal (NEW seal) because the seal requirement applies to each time you service the Fuel Tank module. There exist two non-interchangeable fuel level sender unit and float assemblies located separately on each Fuel Pump module in the tank. Separate the Fuel Pump module then disconnect both the fuel level sender unit and float electrical connector. Users need to unsnap the retaining tabs until the level sensor can be pulled upward to remove it. Install the fuel level sender unit with its float onto the Fuel Pump module by allowing the sender cap to engage then connect the electrical connector. After performing these steps replace the Fuel Pump module into the Fuel Tank followed by reinstallation of the Fuel Tank.
