The push rods need to have their ends coated with prelube gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or an equivalent which should be used to install the 146.0 mm (5.75 inch) intake valve push rods and the 152.5 mm (6.0 inch) exhaust valve push rods back to their original positions. Apply the prelube material to the surfaces that require friction between each Rocker Arm. Shim installation under valve Rocker Arm pedestals becomes necessary when Cylinder Head reconditioning has been performed or its components have undergone any work. The valve rocker arms should receive their original positioning while valve Rocker Arm bolts need installation and torquing to 42 nm (31 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall all valve Rocker Arm covers as the final step of the process.
