Replace the rocker arms while keeping the fastener notice in mind and tighten the Rocker Arm bolts at 32 n.m (24 lb ft). The last procedural step consists of installing the valve Rocker Arm covers back into place.

Tighten the bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) before using the j36660-a to rotate them by another 90 degrees. As the last step install the valve Rocker Arm cover(s) before inspecting the valve train for any unwanted sounds.

The valve Rocker Arm replacement procedure begins by eliminating the valve Rocker Arm cover(s) and Rocker Arm bolt(s). The valve Rocker Arm(s) and Pushrod(s) should then be removed before the process continues. The push rods need to have their ends coated with prelube gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or an equivalent which should be used to install the 146.0 mm (5.75 inch) intake valve push rods and the 152.5 mm (6.0 inch) exhaust valve push rods back to their original positions. Apply the prelube material to the surfaces that require friction between each Rocker Arm. Shim installation under valve Rocker Arm pedestals becomes necessary when Cylinder Head reconditioning has been performed or its components have undergone any work. The valve rocker arms should receive their original positioning while valve Rocker Arm bolts need installation and torquing to 42 nm (31 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall all valve Rocker Arm covers as the final step of the process.

Apply engine oil supplement (EOS) gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or an equivalent to the Rocker Arm friction surfaces before installing the valve Rocker Arm bolts at 19 nm (14 ft. Lbs.) and proceeding to rotate each bolt by an additional 30 degrees with the torque angle meter (J 45059). Reinstall the valve Rocker Arm cover as the last step.

Lbs.) while using an additional 30-degree torque angle. The installation of valve Rocker Arm covers should be the final step.

Finally, reinstall the valve rocker covers.

The intake valve push rods are 14 mm (5.75 in) in length (yellow) and should be installed in their original location.
