    Q:
How to service the pushrods on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
The initial step for servicing push rods starts with unfastening the valve Rocker Arm cover(s). You should first remove the Rocker Arm bolts before taking off each Rocker Arm while placing the properly ordered valve train parts into a rack. Take care to avoid pushrods from entering the lifter valley while removing them. The pushrods used for intake measure at 144.18 mm (5.68 inch) whereas the exhaust pushrods use 152.51 mm (6.0 inch) for their total length. The bearing surfaces of rocker arms and Rocker Arm bolts together with pushrods need prelube gm p/n 1052365 or an equivalent product where you will apply the prelube before reinstalling all parts back to their original positions. You should use prelube gm p/n 1052365 or its equivalent as a coating on Pushrod ends when you prepare to install both intake valve pushrods and exhaust valve pushrods. Install all rocker arms first before slowly tightening the Rocker Arm bolts to 14 nm (124 inch lbs.) with an additional 30-degree angle. Reconnect the valve Rocker Arm cover as the last installation step.

    Q:
How to replace the pushrods and valve rocker arm on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement of valve rocker arms and push rods should begin by eliminating the left or right valve Rocker Arm covers. Begin by taking out the Rocker Arm bolts while discarding them before placing the valve train parts into a rack and carefully working with the pushrods to stop them from dropping into the lifter valley. Remove first the rocker arms and then the pushrods from the operation. When installing the pushrods apply prelube gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) to their ends as the intake pushrods extend 144 mm (5.68 inches) and the exhaust pushrods measure 152.5 mm (6.0 inches). Replace the pushrods together with rocker arms to their accurate spots followed by installation of new valve Rocker Arm bolts. Use j 36660-a torque angle meter (J 36660-A) to rotate bolts 30 degrees after tightening them to 14 nm (124 in. Lbs.). Put back the valve Rocker Arm covers of either the left or right side as the final step of the valve adjustment.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Pushrod on Chevrolet Lumina? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the push rod service by taking out the valve Rocker Arm covers along with the Rocker Arm bolts then the rockerarms. A designated rack should hold the valve train parts before reinstalation for precise original placement. The intake pushrods extend for 144.18 mm (5.68 inch) and exhaust pushrods reach 152.51 mm (6.0 inch). Attention must be given to Pushrod removal since these components can enter the lifter valley. All bearing surfaces of the rocker arms along with the Rocker Arm bolts and pushrods must be coated with prelube (GM P/N 1052365 or its equivalent) before reinstalling the components in their original positions. Prelube the Pushrod ends before installing the intake valve pushrods followed by the installation of exhaust valve pushrods according to the specifications. Install each Rocker Arm and bolt into its place while securing the bolt to 14 nm (124 in. Lbs.) with another 30 degrees of rotation. Repair the process by replacing all valve Rocker Arm covers into their proper positions.

    Q:
How to replace the pushrods and valve rocker arm on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
Beginning a valve Rocker Arm and push rod replacement starts with removing the valve Rocker Arm covers then separating the components for correct reinstallation. First extract the Rocker Arm bolts and after that remove the rocker arms from the components yet maintain the original positions for the pushrods. After that, remove the pushrods. Before assembly you should treat the ends of pushrods with gm p/n 1052356 chemical or equivalent materials. The two types of pushrods feature yellow stripes for intake pushrods measuring 5 3/4 inches and green stripes for exhaust pushrods at 6 inches in length; check that both types seat correctly inside the lifter. Add pushrods back into their previous positions which should be followed by installing the rocker arms. The installation process requires fitting the Rocker Arm bolts which need 14 nm (124 inch lbs.) torque and additional 30 degrees tightening through the j 36660-a torque angle meter. You should install the valve rocker covers in the final stage.

    Q:
How to replace the pushrod and valve rocker arm on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement of valve Rocker Arm and push rod must begin with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Maintain the valve rocker covers in separate positions until you need to reinstall them back to their original locations. When replacing the valve Rocker Arm and rocker arms users must first disconnect the bolts then remove both pivot balls along with the rocker arms before properly noting the Pushrod position. Install the pushrods into their original positions after removing them by applying gm p/n 1052356 material or equivalent to the Pushrod ends using j 36660-a torque angle meter. The length of the yellow-striped intake pushrods measures 5-3/4 inches whereas the green-striped exhaust pushrods measure 6 inches while proper lifter seating is essential. Attach the rocker arms along with pivot balls and protect all bearing surfaces using gm p/n 1052356 or a permitted alternative. Install the Rocker Arm bolts while torquing them to 14 nm (124 inch lbs.) before continuing to torque 30 degrees using the j 36660-a. The last step includes reinstallation of the valve rocker covers and restoring the negative Battery Cable connection.
