As the following step disconnect both the crossover Exhaust Pipe and the Radiator Hose from the Thermostat Housing. First remove Thermostat Housing bolts then clean the bolt threads before removing Thermostat Housing and the Thermostat. Wash the mating areas of both parts prior to setting the new Thermostat together with the Thermostat Housing. Use gm p/n 12378478 (Canadian P/N 88900041) rtv sealer or its equivalent before installing the Thermostat Housing bolts. Tighten these bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Connect the Radiator Hose and crossover Exhaust Pipe to the Thermostat Housing and then reposition the fuel injector sight shield. Check for leaks during the filling process, performing repairs when required.
